The history of Kangoo Jumps

THE HISTORY OF KANGOO JUMPS IN A NUTSHELL

The Beginnings

1994: Canadian-born Gregory Lektham developed the special boot that serves as the foundation for Kangoo Jumps specifically for rehabilitation purposes. The device was designed for patients who, due to injuries or knee and joint problems, were unable to exercise. Since using Kangoo Jumps reduces impact force by more than 80%, it gave many people the opportunity to return to sports. The new product was presented in Paris at the SISEL Sport Fair that same year.

Swiss entrepreneur Denis Neville patented the idea. Following his death in 2015, his daughter, Mika Neville, became the owner and main distributor of the Kangoo Jumps brand.

Global Expansion +

From 1995, the scientific community began to take notice of the device and started researching the physiological effects of Kangoo Jumps. The first comprehensive study was published by Southern Cross University (Lismore) in Australia, the results of which were later confirmed by research at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland. Experts such as Albert C. Carter and specialists from NASA participated in these studies. The research results confirmed the positive health benefits of using Kangoo Jumps.

Kangoo in Hungary +

In 2002, Ádám Hornyák (Ádee) introduced Kangoo Jumps to Hungary. Thanks to his work and methods, this form of movement became widely known and popular. Ádám tragically passed away in an accident in September 2008.

Tímea Sifter (Sifi) carries on the Kangoo Jumps legacy, keeping this ever-popular workout form alive with heart and soul. It remains one of the most popular group fitness classes in gyms across the country, where professional instructors trained by Sifi move hundreds of people every week.

To this day, Kangoo Jumps remains a main highlight of the largest fitness events, where thousands of participants experience the incomparable Kangoo feeling.
